We found a really cool bug!!!!

Yes I do realize every pic is upside down but that is because the bug was upside down. This was so cool to me, Damian and Skyler. None of us has ever seen this bug before. I have no clue what it is but we took alot of pics as you can tell. It just hung there like it was posing. We thought it was great!! Where else but home can you totally interupt school to look at a bug???

Today with school

Damian is catching on. He actually had come to the table, did school and got done. No arguing, no fighting and it went good!! Devlin and Fox have done Istep Tuesday and today. Skyler did not want to stay on task but that is OK she is 4. We did manage to do the third day of creation in her My Fathers World K. She colored her 3 I hung it on the wall. So that was good. We got about half a lesson in math done. She is way too interested in the spooky houses. You can see those pics on the pic page.

Hoosier Academy and Homeschooling.........

It sure is different. Not doing the boys together, a bit more time consuming, but whatever works well for each child Right!!! So Devlin is sure doing well making friends. Fox is becoming Mr. Popularity of course. Damian is really hitting the books as well. Skyler is liking her school. So I guess now we find our routine and go from there and life will all calm down hopefully when winter hits!!!

Changes, Changes.....

I decided that in some way I wanted to make school more official for the kids. An actual name, a new blog look, school colors all that goes with a school. I have decided this year I will keep records and make report cards as well. We will see how that all works out though now won't we?? I have The Master Planner. It is really packed full of organizational forms. I bought it at currclick.com So we shall see how our year will go.......

Fox and Devlin

Fox had his first call home. He did not want to go to reading class. We chatted on the phone he knows there will be some talking and trouble when he gets home. Devlin of course is having a great day. Business as usual for her.

Damians Day

Damians day went all right except for handwriting. He hates it. I was told many many times this morning he is just no good at it. "practice" I tell him.

Today for Skyler....

Well Skyler managed to do her number 2 for the second day of creation. That is her My Fathers World K. We also managed to make a D with her stamp screen and do lesson 2 of her Rightstart Math before she decided that playing with the blocks was way toooo fun to stop. Oh well she's just 4. Good job!!!!!!!!

Kindermusik

Skyler started back at the Fall session of Kindermusik. Usually she has a great time, I think I wore her out today though because.... "She fell asleep 10 minutes into the class." I will be going back to the afternoon naps I think starting tomorrow. I got no pics though. This semesters theme is weather and she will get her take home materials next week hopefully. Usually the class is fairly small but this semster it is pretty big. All though Skylers partner in crime (AKA Kelsey) could not come tonight due to strep throat so she'll start at next weeks class. Hopefully Skyler Bay will be UP for the challenge.

Hoosier Academy Today

Well for Devlin is was business as usual. She got online, did her school, got done had a day. Fox who is finally on the Online School, well a few assignments for him were for the wrong grade. So hopefully this new program gets all the kinks out soon. I will say I am impressed with the Art Print kit that he has for art. It is really cool and the prints are excellent quality, better than most textbooks I have seen.

Damians school day........

Damian started a new reading book today YAY!!!!! We did the first story and all the workbook pages to go with it. We also did math, spelling, language arts, handwriting and of course calendar time. Pretty good after a week or so of confusion. Hopefully tomorrow we can resume with Week 2 of Winterpromise and week 1 of Noeo Chemistry.

Skylers First Day of School......

Today is Little Ones first day. What a busy day it was. We did everything and had so much fun doing it too. She had a blast doing all that school with mommy!!

My Fathers World K

Today we started The My Fathers World K. Our first lesson was about Creation Day 1 . God seperated the light and the dark. So far this seems pretty cute and Skyler really liked hearing about Day 1.
This is the number for Day 1. Each day we study she will add a decorated number on the wall.
These are the alphabet cards and for each creation day we just briefly look at two letters. Todays were A and B

First Language Lessons

This is Queen Homeschool First Language Lessons for Little Ones. Skyler really enjoyed the first couple of lessons today. She looked at a painting, discussed it. We read a poem and talked about feelings, beginning narration. I think it's a hit!!!

Skylers Math Rightstart A

This is Skylers math. Rightstart A. Today was our first lesson and she really seemed to like it alot. We learned what tally sticks are. Quanities 1-3, as well as our left hand and showing the fingers for the quanities 1-3. All in all Great Math Day Skyler YAY!!!!!!!

My Sunday Morning

I have heard from Hoosier Academy and everything is a big computer problem. I have decided that Damian needs to start counseling and behavior therapy and one on one. So all is well in the planet and Damian will be having some new changes at home and Devlin and Fox will be in school.

So, here goes the update

On September 2 my daughter Devlin started Hoosier Academy. I was suppose to leave it at that and continue to homeschool Damian, Fox and Skyler Bay. Well until little Fox came out with the. "please mommy I wanna go to school too". Well being the open minded parent I am I spent three days on the phone talking to anyone who would help me enroll the little guy. So it was finally set that Fox would go YAY!!!!!!!! Well Damian decided he wanted to go to the cool school too. Lot's more days on the phone, leaving messages, waiting for call backs and running to three different stores to get his school supplies. Damian went to school finally on Sept. 11. What a day to start, well ecleast some good would come of that day. Thursday morning was spent packing up a desk that a little boy would no longer need. Shelving my beloved WinterPromise American Story 1 program to hopefully open one day for Skyler Bay. Well it goes down from here. At lunch time the dredded phone call, Damian is having a bad day after school is out for today can we do a meeting? Well with a child of Autism I am quite aware meetings will be needed. I went through all of that, hearing about case conferences, special ed teachers etc. etc. Well we came home eager to set up everything in place for the little boy who out of the clear wanted to go to school. On Friday morning I woke up to check the online school schedule for the day. It was very shocking that Damian had assignments considering he has no school books. I talked to one of his teachers as well as the school assistant. "Do the best that you can online until you recieve his materials it will all be O.K." Well Friday evening I was surprised to see Damians name was no longer on my account. Must be a computer problem I thought. This morning I wake up to an email stating that they are requesting I return Damians materials as he is a dropped student. At this point I am in shock. Noone talked with me, no conference with a special ed teacher has happened. He is just dropped!!!!!! No, I don't think this is legal. He cannot be denied access to a public school, I know that much. I am done with the Hoosier Academy. Devlin and Fox are thriving in there envoronment and do not deserve to let my injured pride harm them. They can stay. Damian is coming back to Homeschool starting this Monday. I am hurt, I am disgusted, mostly I am saddend that a little boy who has problems is looked upon like a burden. I really have nothing else to say except, public school disgusts me, society sickens me and this world is doomed all way around. I love my son, he is a great kid and someday when they face God he will question why they turned one of his special gifts away????? Until then how do I explain to him that he can't go to school and make a friend he so much wants????

I sadly need a blog update!!!!!!!

For thepast two weeks I have had no idea who I am homeschooling and who I am not. LOL. Which kid goes where on which day, what they need to wear, and please God did I remember their lunch???? It all started on Sept. 2, that is the last sane day that I had..............

We built a pirate ship!!!!!!!!

After a very busy two weeks we decided that today we would go to Lowes and build a pirate ship!!!! We had fun doing it too. Notice that Devlin is not present, she has informed me that she is done with that LOL. She is 11 after all. More pics can be seen on our pic site.
