The Earthlodge Tour

I thought this was a pretty neat little site that Winterpromise suggests. I thought so anyway. The boys were just not too crazy over it though. They seemed sad they were not "making" something today. http://www.nps.gov/archive/knri/lodge/lodge_0.htm

All About Today.......

Sadly we are still finishing Week 1 of Winterpromise American Story. But that is OK. Today we made our first map with the Interactive map book. The map is of Americas First People. They followed the mammoths over from Asia. The first Americans, the Native Americans. The maps are so cool. The pieces of the hunters and the animals move along a cut in the map so that they really "travel". TOO too cute. Ecleast it is not all blue on Foxs part. We also started our first lesson in Rightstart B as well as First Language Lessons. All in all an OK day I guess. We also had fun in the afternoon with a slip and slide and ice cream cones.

Alphabet Tater Tots They are too too cute. I had to buy them I could not resist.

Indian Necklaces

Well since we are studying Winterpromise American Story 1 I thought these adorable little indian pouch necklaces were perfect!! Fox has his full of little snakes and lizards while Damians has remained empty. Fox's pouch is kinda hard to see in the first pic but he sure was thrilled with it.

What our spider friend left us.....

For quite a few weeks Fox has been making friends with a spider by the garage. He has caught ants for it to eat and runs out every morning to see it. Well to his dismay the other morning Spidey was gone. He has watched for a few days but Spidey is not coming back. Well as Fox has finally accepted that he is gone he found a little present left for him. Do you know what these are??? Yep they are egg sacs. How great!!!
Fox is thrilled of course, me not soo much.

Our first day with Winterpromise

The boys first day......

Well, after much thoughts and consideration on every level. I have decided that my youngest son will continue school at home instead of the online academy. So today was our first day and all we did was Winterpromise American Story 1. I hope they will enjoy learning how America began. They were not happy with the Indians losing their home though. They made a diorama of the Pequot Indians from Connecticut and Damian really enjoyed that. So this week we may just do our Winterpromise cirr. and start math and such next week who knows??. Our first day went
pretty good and we ended it with a nice long walk to Walgreens
to pick up Damians medicine.
